Ghost River Theatre is pleased to announce that after a national search that saw close to 50 applicants, Louise Casemore has been chosen to join Ghost River Theatre as Artistic Associate for the 2016-2017 theatre season.

Louise will be participating in all aspects of Ghost River Theatre’s activities. She will be directly involved as an artistic collaborator and producer for GRT’s 2016/17 season of activities including: the third instalment of the Six Senses Performance Series: TOUCH which will be Presented at Beakerhead Sept 14-18th with Aveda Institute Salon, Devising Intensive Nov 10th-13th at West Village Theatre, Exploder - a teen devising project with Western Canada High April 18th-21st and the world premiere of Little Red with Major Matt Mason Collective, May 30th – June 10th, West Village Theatre.

“I am thrilled to welcome such an accomplished and exciting emerging artist to Ghost River Theatre,” says Artistic Director Eric Rose.  “Louise’s playful, rigorous, often immersive work as a performance creator, playwright, and producer makes her an exceptional addition to our team and the Calgary artistic community.”

Casemore is a performer, producer, and director originally from Edmonton, Alberta. She is the founder and Artistic Director of Defiance Theatre, a company dedicated to the development and production of new Canadian theatre with a specialty focus on unconventional stories and storytelling methods. Her one woman show OCD was recently awarded the Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Award for Outstanding Fringe New Work (in addition to Louise’s nomination for Outstanding Fringe Performance by an Actress) and was selected by Theatre Alberta to tour the province as part of their “Picks of the Edmonton Fringe” program. She is an active member of her community via fundraising, events coordination, and being a general super fan of the arts.

Louise will be officially starting at Ghost River Theatre on July 27th, after touring her award winning show OCD to the Winnipeg Fringe Festival.
