Ghost River Theatre invites Calgary audiences to start their summer entertainment with a stunningly beautiful mime show for all ages, coming to Calgary June 28 – July 1. Tickets available here. On a cross-Canada tour from Toronto, La bulle features renowned artist David Danzon as the iconic dreamer Pierrot. Through mime, dance, text, and drawing - and with humour always at his side - Pierrot tries to connect with his audience, ultimately creating bonds with those who are willing to give him a little time.

After discovering La bulle at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last year, Ghost River Theatre is thrilled to bring La bulle to Calgary for its local premiere. In the words of Ghost River Theatre’s Artistic Director Eric Rose who has long admired the work of CORPUS and is keen to share it with Calgary: "La bulle is spectacular and promises fun for the whole family!” 

La bulle features a unique and magnificent bubble tent and its confined inhabitant, the iconic Pierrot. In this intimate theatrical setting, there is nowhere to hide and yet personal connections seem unattainable. La bulle was conceived long before COVID but its themes of social isolation and distancing took on a profound and universal new meaning during the pandemic. The show also speaks of an equally contemporary paradox: private space in full transparency. It premiered in France and Toronto in 2021 and is currently on a cross-Canada tour.

Full of charm, eloquence, and humour, La bulle promises to enchant those who are seated outside the magical bubble.
